A light aircraft has had to make an emergency landing near Wrexham, say North Wales Police. A pilot escaped unhurt after his light aircraft crash-landed upside down in a field near Wrexham.
The force received a call from the fire and rescue service at 1053 BST on Tuesday. The 56-year-old came down in a field in Burton Green, Llay, shortly before 1100 BST on Tuesday after experiencing fuel problems.
The pilot is believed to have sustained minor injuries and is being taken to hospital by ambulance. He was helped by a local farmer and was taken to Wrexham's Maelor Hospital.
The aircraft is believed to have landed in a field off Stringers Lane in the Burton Green area. There are no further details at present. A North Wales Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said "The pilot was forced to land due to fuel problems but landed upside down. The pilot is unhurt."
