A man and a child have been injured and a woman remains missing after falling from a mountain in Cumbria. A man, woman and child, believed to be from the same family, were injured when they fell down a mountain in Cumbria.

The man and six-year-old child were airlifted to hospital in Carlisle. The extent of their injuries is not known. The man and six-year-old girl were airlifted to hospital. The woman was later taken by the second helicopter.
A woman who was with the group remains on the mountain, and efforts to rescue her are continuing. No details of their injuries have as yet been released, but the child is believed to be seriously hurt.

A Ministry of Defence spokesman said: "It was wet and slippy.
"They were just below the cloud line, around 2,000 feet up the mountain. It is quite steep there.
"Two other adults were taken down the mountain by Keswick Mountain Rescue team."
