The woman was attacked after going to photograph a camp used by illegal immigrants waiting to cross the Channel to Britain, the AFP news agency said. Police said the 31-year-old woman, who has spent most of her life in the UK, was attacked while photographing the site called "the jungle" on Tuesday.
"There she was the victim of a rape perpetrated by an individual who is now being sought," a statement by the local prosecutor's office added. The camp is used by migrants waiting to cross the Channel to Britain.
