Mr Campbell's employer paid tribute to him as a vital member of a team which supports adults with learning difficulties.
Jane Gray, chief executive of ARK Housing Association, described him as "a well liked, respected and committed member of the team" in the organisation's Buckie office.
She added: "He was considered a vital member of that service and had just recently been promoted to a more senior position.
"We all considered that he had a great future with the organisation. He will be greatly missed by his colleagues and our thoughts are with his family."
