Nerys Price, 35, gave birth by emergency Caesarian section hours after she and her partner Simon Morris were assaulted at Prestatyn, Denbighshire. Nerys Price had an emergency Caesarean to deliver her baby after the assault at her home in Prestatyn, Denbighshire, in the early hours of Friday 15 August.
Their daughter Freya was delivered before Ms Price received surgery for her head injuries. Her partner, Simon Morris, 36, was also apparently injured.
North Wales Police say the arrested man is aged 36 and lives locally. But Mr Morris was arrested on Saturday night, a week after the attack, on suspicion of attempted murder.
Doctors at Glan Clwyd Hospital, Bodelwyddan, decided to deliver the baby amid fears for Ms Price's health after the attack, which happened early on Friday, 15 August. Ms Price, 35, was just weeks away from giving birth when she suffered severe injuries after being hit over the head in the raid on the couple's £300,000 home in Calthorpe Drive in the seaside town.
She was hit twice on the head with a weapon, and Mr Morris was also hit in the back as he tried to protect her. Doctors at Glan Clwyd Hospital, Bodelwyddan, decided to deliver her daughter, Freya, amid fears for Ms Price's health after the attack.
Ms Price, who received treatment for her injuries at Walton Hospital, Liverpool, later returned home. She later received treatment for her injuries at Walton Hospital, Liverpool, before returning home.
Mr Morris appeared at Llandudno Magistrates' Court on Sunday where police were granted a warrant for his further detention for questioning.
