Man was 'murdered' on city street Arrest after man killed in street

Police have launched a murder hunt after the body of a man was found in a street on the south side of Glasgow. A man has been arrested after a body was found in a Glasgow street following a disturbance, police have said.
Emergency services were called to Craigie Street, Govanhill, at about 0035 BST on Thursday. Scott McAusland was discovered by a member of the public in Craigie Street, near Allison Street, in the city's Govanhill area at 0035 BST on Thursday.

Detectives have been trying to piece together the last movements of the man, who is yet to be named. A 55-year-old man has been detained in custody in connection with the death. He is expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court later.
Det Insp Ian Rule, of Strathclyde Police, said: "This investigation is still at an early stage, and we are currently working through statements obtained from door-to-door inquiries and also checking through CCTV footage from the area. Strathclyde Police launched a murder hunt following a post-mortem.
"What we do know at this time is that a disturbance occurred shortly after midnight in Craigie Street at Allison Street, and we believe this is how the victim sustained fatal injuries. Officers sealed off surrounding streets, carried out door-to-door inquiries and trawled through CCTV footage from the area.
"At the moment we cannot say for certain how many people were involved, and I would therefore appeal to the public who may have seen or heard such a disturbance early this morning to contact me." Det Insp Ian Rule, leading the investigation, said: "What we do know at this time is that a disturbance occurred shortly after midnight in Craigie Street at Allison Street.
"We believe this is how the victim has sustained the fatal injuries."
