"I can't say anything about the crash until the investigations have taken place." Mr Normington had been a member of a AWA Flying Group, based at Coventry Airport for the last 12 years.
Club chairman Nick Wyndow said: "He'd done about 600 hours in the airplane, so he was very competent and very enthusiastic.
"He used to join in all the events that the club put on. He's really going to be missed."
'Sweet and gentle'
Don Shaw, from Mickleover, Derbyshire, said he was given refresher flying lessons by 28-year-old Ms Hastings, who was from Swadlingcote.
He said: "She was sweet, gentle, extremely patient as an instructor, great sense of humour.
"I can't eulogise about her more than that, she was just simply a wonderful girl, wonderful woman. "
