Two teenagers trapped in quarry Girls rescued from slate quarry

The emergency services are trying to rescue two teenagers trapped in a quarry in Llangollen, Denbighshire. Two girls who became trapped in a slate quarry on the Horseshoe Pass near Llangollen have been rescued.
Firefighters, police and a mountain rescue team are at the scene of the quarry near the Ponda Rosa known locally as the Blue Pool. Emergency services were called to the quarry near the Ponda Rosa at around 1310 BST.
An RAF helicopter is on its way to the slate quarry off the Horseshoe Pass where the emergency is taking place. Firefighters, police and a mountain rescue team were taking part in the rescue and an RAF helicopter was on its way to the scene.
Teams with ropes are trying to reach the youngsters in a rescue attempt which began at about 1310 BST. North Wales Fire and Rescue service later said two girls had been rescued from the quarry.
