Two men have been injured in a shooting in Salford.

Greater Manchester Police were called to Regent Road in Ordsall in the early hours of Saturday, after several reports of shots being fired.

Police said four men had been walking home from a night out when they heard shots and dispersed.

Ambulance crews found a 26-year-old man with a wound in his lower leg. A second man, 22, arrived at hospital, also with a bullet wound in his leg.

Both men are in a stable condition and their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Regent Road, westbound, has been temporarily closed while officers examine the area.

Traffic diversions have been put in place but motorists are advised to take alternative routes wherever possible.
