A teenage boy has been stabbed to death at a party in Manchester. | |
Sixteen-year-old Conor James Black was stabbed once in Moston Lane, Harpurhey, at about 0200 BST on Saturday. | |
Conor, who lived in Harpurhey, was treated at the scene by paramedics but died on the way to hospital. Police are appealing for witnesses to the attack. | |
Moston Lane has been closed between the junctions of Ashley Lane and Cole Street. Friends of Conor have been laying flowers close to the scene. | |
Forensic experts are carrying out a search of the area and conducting house-to-house inquiries. | |
'Loveable lad' | |
Neighbours have spoken of their shock over the killing, saying that Conor, who was a joinery student, was "very much into his music", and was not a "troublemaker". | |
Kirsty Scullion, an 18-year-old beauty therapist, said: "He was a loveable lad who was never really in trouble. | |
"He was respectful but there had been trouble at this party. | |
"Someone told me that Connor was thought to have said something to someone which he denied. | |
Friends have been placing floral tributes close to where Conor died | |
"It all then got out of hand and there was a commotion and he ended up getting stabbed. | |
"He wasn't the sort of lad who would look for trouble but he would back himself up." | |
Kirsty's brother, Jordan, 15, said: "He was a really good lad, I can't believe this has happened. | |
"He had everything to live for and was a normal young lad, into football. All his friends are stunned." | |
