Children hurt in school bus crash

Three children have suffered head injuries after a crash involving a school bus and an articulated lorry.

The collision happened at about 0830 GMT on the B979 Maryculter to Stonehaven road at Netherley.

Two boys and a girl were taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with suspected head injuries but none was seriously injured in the incident.

Insp Jim Gordon of Grampian Police said that the bus ended up on a small embankment but did not topple over.

The injured pupils were among 11 or 12 children on the bus, which was on its way to Netherley Primary School.

The male bus driver was uninjured. The road was closed and traffic has been advised to avoid the area.
