"I am appealing for help from people who were in the area of this footpath between 3pm and 4pm yesterday afternoon. If you were there, please contact me because you may have seen something important without realising it.
"I am also keen to hear from anyone who uses the footpaths in this area who may, in the past, have seen someone hanging around who made them feel uneasy or raised their suspicions in any way."
