At least two people are reported to have died and 24 people have been injured after shooting broke out at the Route 91 Harvest country music festival. Witnesses posted video footage of what appeared to be gunfire on social media, and artists at the festival Tweeted about gun shots. The Las Vegas police department said the investigation into the shooting remained active, amid reports of further shots fired in other areas of the Vegas strip.

Police confirmed they were responding to “reports of an active shooter” at or around the casino. The city’s McCarran International airport said flights in and out of the airport “have been temporarily halted in response to reported shooting incident on Las Vegas Strip”.
