A 19-year-old man has been charged in connection with a serious sexual assault in Crumlin, County Antrim. A man has been remanded in custody at Larne Magistrates Court charged in connection with a serious sexual assault on a 14-year-old girl.
He is due to appear at Larne Magistrates Court later on Friday charged with rape and false imprisonment. The magistrate has prohibited his name and address being made public.
The alleged incident took place on Tuesday. At the time, police said it may have been linked to a security breach at RAF Aldergrove. The court was the told the man had been threatened by loyalist paramilitaries. He also said he denied rape and that the sex was consensual.
A second male who was being question has been released on bail. The accused, who will appear in court again on 26 August, also denied a charge of false imprisonment.
The alleged offences took place on 5 August.
