(about 2 hours later)
A viable device has been found near the courthouse in Coleraine, County Londonderry, police have said. Coleraine courthouse has re-opened after a "a viable device," was found nearby in the early hours of Thursday.
Army bomb experts carried out a controlled explosion on the device, which was discovered early on Thursday. The area was declared clear after army bomb experts carried out a controlled explosion.
Further searches of the area are expected to take place later, police said. There was an alert in the area last week following reports of bombs being left in the area of the courthouse, but nothing was found.
Last week there was an alert in the area following reports of bombs being left in the area of the courthouse, but nothing was found. MP Gregory Campbell has demanded an investigation into why the bomb was not discovered during previous searches.
Mr Campbell said "questions needed to be answered".
"The police need to have an investigation into whether or not this was two separate devices, because it will be even more worrying if the area was cleared last week and now it transpires that the device had not been uncovered," he said.
"I am not suggesting that is the case, but it does seem a bit of a coincidence that within one week there are two separate devices at the same location."
