A musician who had his conviction for the murder of Brighton teacher Jane Longhurst quashed by the Court of Appeal has denied strangling her. A musician has been remanded in custody after pleading not guilty to the murder of Brighton teacher Jane Longhurst.
Graham Coutts, 36, of Waterloo Street, Hove, East Sussex, pleaded not guilty to murder when he appeared at the Old Bailey in London via a video-link. The body of the 31-year-old special needs teacher, originally from Reading, in Berkshire, was found on Wiggonholt Common, in West Sussex, in April 2003.
