| It was good to read Georgina Lawton’s piece (‘I’ll do it my way’, Family, 26 August). We hear similar stories from people struggling to establish a clear identity. Society has not accommodated the growing number of young people of mixed race, in that they are frequently categorised as black, rarely as white, and not accorded their chosen mixed identity. People in Harmony has commissioned a report on the status of mixed race in the UK today. The preliminary findings will be presented at our annual seminar on 7 October.
