A Belfast children's hospital has restricted visiting in a bid to cut down on infection of patients.

The Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children said the move was aimed at preventing the spread of winter viruses harmful to ill children.

Only parents and guardians will be allowed to visit from Wednesday.

The hospital said the move was a precautionary one to help keep infection to a minimum and will be kept under review.
