"It was such a large incident. We have got six people seriously injured, one of whom is still in a critical condition in hospital, one in a stable condition, and four with serious injuries." "The end result has been a young man losing his life.
The area where the attack took place is largely overlooked by housing and officers believe many people will have witnessed the incident as a result. "We have had an encouraging response from the local community so far but I know that there are still people in the area who have not spoken to us.
They have urged anyone with information to come forward. "I would urge them to get in touch - help us, tell us what you know, your information could prove vital."
