An investigation is under way after a warehouse fire in Glasgow's Hillington industrial estate on Sunday which could be seen for several miles.

Two youths had been spotted on CCTV in a storage area of the former Rolls Royce engineering complex, which was packed with foam and cardboard.

They ran off when police officers arrived, by which time the building was well alight.

At the height of the fire, there were 45 firefighters dealing with the blaze.

The emergency services had been called out at about 2130 BST on Sunday evening.

A Strathclyde Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "A section of the front face of the building had collapsed and fire crews got to work using ground monitors and water jets to attack the blaze.

"The officer in charge assessed the incident and decided to call on additional resources to tackle the fire."

The blaze was brought under control by about midnight.
