Man, 24, dies after car hits tree Two die in separate road crashes

A 24-year-old man has died in the south side of Glasgow after the car he was driving left the road and crashed into a tree. Police have confirmed that two men died in two separate road accidents in the Strathclyde area on Sunday.
The incident happened on Barrhead Road, in the Pollok area of the city, at about 0810 BST on Saturday. At about 0610 BST a 60-year-old was killed on the M74 at Elvanfoot after the Toyota Landcruiser he was driving lost control and crashed.
Strathclyde Police named the driver as Mark McDonald from Pollok. The man's three passengers, including his 48-year-old wife and children, aged 14 and 18, were uninjured but shaken.
Two hours later, Mark McDonald, 24, died after his car hit a tree on Barrhead Road, Pollok, Glasgow.
