The two-day Glasgow River Festival gets under way later with a programme of events on land and water. Thousands of people are attending the Glasgow River Festival which has got under way with a programme of events on land and water.
New to this year's festival will be a display of jet-ski racing and Glasgow's first ever beach volleyball tournament. New to this year's festival is sea scooter racing and Glasgow's first beach volleyball tournament.
Attractions include a fleet of visiting ships such as a schooner, two Royal Navy Hunt class minesweepers and a floating fishery museum. However, one of the races had to be stopped after Amy boats taking people on pleasure cruises strayed onto the course.
Last year, the festival which takes place on the Clyde attracted more than 85,000 visitors. Other attractions include a schooner and two Royal Navy minesweepers.
