A woman has been charged with murder after a man was hit by a moving tram in Manchester. A woman charged with the murder of a man hit by a moving tram in Manchester wept as she appeared in court on Tuesday.
Greater Manchester police said Charrissa Loren Brown-Wellington, 31, had been remanded in custody to appear before Manchester and Salford magistrates court. Charrissa Loren Brown-Wellington, 31, appeared at Manchester and Salford magistrates court charged with the murder of Philip Carter.
Officers were called to Victoria station in the city centre just after 7.50pm on Sunday. Carter, who has not been formally named by police but was named in court, died after being hit by a tram at Victoria station in Manchester on Sunday.
Police said the man was pushed from the platform in front of a moving tram. Emergency services were called but the man, aged 30, died at the scene. Emergency services arrived at 7.50pm but the 30-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man has not yet been named by police. It is believed the allegation is that Carter was pushed from the platform in front of a moving tram.
Brown-Wellington was remanded in custody to appear at Manchester crown court on Wednesday.
