Friends and family of Ben Kinsella, who was stabbed to death in north London, are due to attend his funeral. Friends of stab victim Ben Kinsella celebrated his life by turning up to his funeral wearing fancy dress.
The 16-year-old was attacked when a row spilled out of a pub in York Way, Holloway, last month. Dozens of people wore colourful wigs and large sunglasses as they paid their last respects to Ben, 16, who was attacked in north London last month.
Mourners are due to gather at St John's the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Islington for a service at 12 noon. Others attending the service at St John's the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Islington, north London, wore T-shirts bearing anti-knife slogans.
His sister, former EastEnders actress Brooke Kinsella, will be among those at a private ceremony at St Pancras and Islington Cemetery later. "He wouldn't have wanted everyone to wear black," said Brooke Dunford.
A close friend of Ben's, Miss Dunford was among the first to arrive for the service which is to be followed by a private ceremony at St Pancras and Islington Cemetery.
She said: "He was a funny bright boy".
Outside the church she laid a bunch of flowers with a note which read: "The most saddest day of my life, Ben, when I lost you.
"I will hold you in my heart forever, I love you, you hottie."

Ben was stabbed several times when a fight spilled out of a pub into York Way on 29 June.

A minute's silence was held outside the Shillibeers bar at 0200 BST, the time Ben was stabbed to death on 29 June. Ben's sister, former Eastenders actress Brooke Kinsella, has appealed for an end to knife crime.
