Clwyd West AM Darren Millar said: "It is just plain common sense that north Wales patients should be entitled to access the expert treatment available on their doorstep rather than having to travel for up to four hours south. Clwyd West AM Darren Millar said it was "just plain common sense" that north Wales patients have access to expert treatment on their doorstep.
"I am very concerned that it has taken an expert review for the minister to realise her plans were unrealistic." Clwyd West MP David Jones said it had been an "utter humiliation" for the health minister, after her original announcement last July "caused such anxiety to so many people in north Wales".
He added: "Mrs Hart, with her south Wales perspective, clearly didn't anticipate the massive backlash she experienced from people in north Wales, who value the area's links with centres of excellence such as Walton, Alder Hey, Christie's and Gobowen".
