Andy Robinson is expected to resign as England coach on Tuesday. Andy Robinson is expected to step down as England coach on Tuesday after a day of talks at the Rugby Football Union.
Robinson has been locked in talks with Rugby Football Union chief Francis Baron, chairman Martyn Thomas and elite director Rob Andrew over his future. It is understood that RFU chief Francis Baron, elite director Rob Andrew and chairman Martyn Thomas asked Robinson to resign but he hopes to stay on.
The Rugby Football Union will offer him the same compensation package as it would have had he been sacked. However the RFU are prepared to force Robinson out if needs be.
On Sunday, an RFU source told BBC Sport Robinson would be asked to resign or else face the sack, but he has insisted he wants to stay on. It is thought that Robinson will be offered the same compensation package whether he resigns aor if he is sacked.

Robinson had been due to take part in three days of World Cup meetings starting on Tuesday in Paris, but he will not now attend.
