His friend Tim Francis, posted an appeal on Facebook last week for people to join the search for him on Dartmoor. A friend said Mr Griffiths had gone to Dartmoor before on religious retreats.
He said Mr Griffiths planned to go camping near Burrator Reservoir on 20 April and had not been seen since. Tim Francis said the last time he went camping on Dartmoor "was for 40 days on a fast as he believes in the Bible".
