A man is still in a critical condition in hospital following a street fight in west London in which one man died.

Officers were called to reports of a violent disturbance in Harlington High Street on Friday morning in which a motorist was killed during a fight.

A man then attacked six others including paramedics, who were trying to help the victim, members of the public and a police officer.

Police said a Tunisian man had been arrested following the incident.

Officers believe the man who died had arrived at the scene in a car and got involved in a row with another man.

When an ambulance arrived at about 0430 GMT and paramedics tried to help the motorist, a man is alleged to have attacked them.

They returned to their ambulance and the same man is then thought to have attacked two women who were walking along the street.

Police said two cars then pulled over and the drivers approached a man who attacked them, with one driver receiving serious head injuries.

He is said to be in a life-threatening condition at a west London hospital with a depressed fracture in his skull.

Det Supt Chris Watts said: "The whole incident only took a matter of about 10-12 minutes and has ended up with one man dead and six people hospitalised, one of whom is in an extremely serious condition.

"There has been at least one officer who suffered minor injuries."

He added that police did not believe any weapons were used in the attacks.

Police said the arrested man was about 30 years old and his mental health was being assessed.

The dead man was Asian but no formal identification has yet been made.
