Two men have demanded a personal apology from ex-Seinfeld actor Michael Richards after the comic's racist tirade at a Los Angeles club.

Frank McBride and Kyle Doss were berated for interrupting Richards' act and were then racially abused by him, said the men's lawyer, Gloria Allred.

Mr Doss, 26, said he wanted a "face-to-face apology".

Richards' publicist Howard Rubenstein said his client wants to say sorry but has had trouble locating the two men.

Richards, who played Kramer in the TV sitcom Seinfeld, has already made a public apology on the Late Show with David Letterman earlier this week.

He has also said sorry to civil rights leaders Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton.

Mr Doss said he was humiliated by the outburst.

"To have him do what he did to me... I can't even explain it. I was humiliated, even scared at one point," he said.

Ms Allred told the AP news agency that Richards should meet Mr McBride and Mr Doss in front of a retired judge to "acknowledge his behaviour and to apologise to them".

She added that a judge could also decide on monetary compensation.

"It's not enough to say 'I'm Sorry' on David Letterman," she said.

Mr Rubenstein said Richards was not considering any demands for payment: "He wants to apologise to them directly and then see what happens".
