Two osprey chicks raised on a Highlands reserve have been tagged so their migrations can be tracked by satellite.

The BBC Scotland news website reported last month that the RSPB planned to tag birds of prey at Loch Garten, near Aviemore, for the first time.

Website www.rspb.org.uk/ospreytracking has been set up to allow people to monitor the raptors on their journeys from Scotland to West Africa.

A site linked to a webcam on the nest has had 200,000 visitors this year.

There were three chicks at Loch Garten, but the youngest died.
