A 55-year-old man has appeared in court accused of rape and attempted murder after two sex attacks which happened 11 years apart in West Yorkshire. | |
David Newton, of Knottingley, appeared at Bradford Crown Court charged with the abduction, indecent assault and rape of a girl, 16, in Leeds in 1997. | |
He is also accused of the kidnap and false imprisonment of an 11-year-old boy in the same incident at Halton. | |
Mr Newton is accused of the attempted murder and rape of a woman in 2006. | |
The second incident is alleged to have taken place on Ilkley Moor. | |
Mr Newton was arrested in the Hayle area of Cornwall on Tuesday. | |
He was remanded in custody to appear at Bradford Crown Court on 15 July. |
