Family 'blessed' to have known bike crash death teen

Sean Purchase, 15, was hit by a vehicle while riding his bike in Great Barr, Birmingham, on 2 February. He died five weeks later on 6 March. No-one has been arrested but the driver is helping police with their inquiries, West Midlands Police said. The boy's family said he "was the strongest person anyone could meet". Their statement added: "Life will never be the same for all his family and friends, however his kind nature and awesome sense of humour will never leave our hearts. "We are so proud of him and have been truly blessed to have him in our lives. "As a family we would like to thank everyone for their kind words and support at this devastating time." The force is appealing for any witnesses to the crash which happened on Wandsworth Road, near its junction with Bandywood Road. |
