Welcome to Best of Late Night, a rundown that lets you sleep — and lets us get paid to watch comedy. What do you think of it? What else are you interested in? Let us know: thearts@nytimes.com.

Samantha Bee’s show “Full Frontal” airs just once a week, so she had a lot to catch up on Wednesday night, including President Trump’s Twitter posts accusing his predecessor of wiretapping him. She said Mr. Trump’s advisers seemed to have lost control over him as soon as the Teleprompter powered off after his address to Congress last week.

Ms. Bee closed her show with a quick takedown of the Republicans’ newly introduced health care bill.

On “The Late Show,” Stephen Colbert got a little more surgical with his criticism of the bill.

Mr. Colbert turned the AARP’s rejection of the new bill into a fantasy tale.

James Corden has been all about “Kong: Skull Island” this week. After a lively chat on Wednesday with the film’s star, Samuel L. Jackson, he hosts John Goodman on “The Late Late Show” on Thursday. Mr. Goodman is also in the movie, which opens on Friday.

We’ve heard a bit about what David Letterman has been up to since leaving “The Late Show.” Mostly taking it easy, worrying about the president and growing a ZZ Top beard. But what about his far-less-hirsute musical sidekick, Paul Shaffer? It turns out Mr. Shaffer is about to come out with an album that features Bill Murray, and he’s embarking on a tour.
