Several people have been injured after a car ploughed into pedestrians outside the Withington Community Hospital in Manchester. Two people have suffered "life-threatening" injuries after a car ploughed into several pedestrians outside of a hospital in Manchester.
Manchester Police confirmed a number of people had been injured in the collision. Greater Manchester Police said they were called to a "serious collision" outside of Withington Hospital after 2pm.
North West Ambulance Service said an ambulance was called to the hospital around 2.05pm to a road traffic collision.  "Two people, a man and a woman, have been taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries", a spokesperson said.
A spokeswoman said a woman and a man were taken to hospital. "The driver of the vehicle, a man in his 80s, remained at the scene and is speaking with police."
One was taken to Wythenshawe Hospital and the other taken to Manchester Royal Infirmary. North West Ambulance Service said an ambulance was called to the hospital around 2.05pm.
A spokeswoman said one casualty was taken to Wythenshawe hospital and one to Manchester Royal Infirmary, both with serious injuries.
She said there were no reports of any other casualties.

"There were at least 20 police cars and lots of ambulances."
The latest pictures from the scene showed police officers examining a green Ford Focus in the hospital car park.
