According to the Swiss source, there has been a fire in the plane’s left engine. It also said an air traffic control agency Skyguide “has confirmed the incident on request.”
The plane took off from Zurich at 1:41pm local time (12:41pm GMT).
An hour and a half into the flight, it is still circling in Swiss airspace at an altitude of 10,000 feet (3,000 meters), according to Flightradar.
There are over 150 seats on this type of aircraft.
