Pc Terry was playing the role of a criminal in a getaway car during the exercise when he was killed on 9 June. Two mounted police officers led the funeral procession with the hearse sporting a floral tribute to "Tez" - his nickname.
His elder brother, Paul, also a police constable with GMP, was among the pallbearers.
Colleagues from Pc Terry's firearms unit formed a guard of honour as the coffin was carried into the church.

Pc Terry was not wearing body armour and an Independent Police Complaints Commission investigation (IPCC) is under way. The vicar of St John's, the Rev Lawrence Laycock, said his "sudden and unexpected death" had not only affected his family but also touched the whole country.
He said: "He made an impression on everyone he met and made lifetime friends wherever he went. His smile will be imprinted on everyone who was lucky to know him."
He was devoted to wife Joanne and was the "proudest husband and father you could imagine," he added.
An Independent Police Complaints Commission investigation (IPCC) into the incident is under way.
