Councillor David Lewis, Neath Port Talbot Cabinet member for economic regeneration, said: "The opening of this factory meant an important stage in the regeneration of this particular part of the world.
"It would appear that only the warehouse has been badly affected and that the main production line is still operational.
"The message from the plant is that it is recoverable.
"It is a superb facility, cutting-edge technologies have been built into this process and from our point of view we want to make sure this is up and running again as soon as possible."
