Man charged with woman's murder

A man has been charged with the murder of a woman who was found dead at a house in North Yorkshire.

Police were called to reports of a disturbance at the house in the village of Grinton, near Richmond, in the early hours of Friday morning.

A woman aged in her early 50s, who has not been named by police, was pronounced dead by paramedics.

The 56-year-old man is due to appear at Northallerton Magistrates' Court on Monday morning.
