Version 0 of 1.

Masked gunmen opened fire on a car in County Armagh, the police have said.

Two shots were fired at the Land Rover Discovery, as it headed towards Dungannon on the Artasooly Road, at about 0630 BST on Friday.

The driver was passing a champagne-coloured saloon, possibly a Ford Mondeo, when a masked man stepped from behind it and fired a pistol.

Two shots were fired, one hitting the bonnet on the driver's side. The driver was uninjured.

As the motorist accelerated away he spotted another masked man, wearing a checked grey lumberjack type jacket.

It is believed the gunmen may have sped off in the direction of Benburb. A motive for the attack has yet to be established.

Detectives in Armagh have appealed for information.
