Paul Moran, 13, a pupil at Lytham St Annes High School, was found by his family tied to a bunk bed with a scarf at their home in St Annes.
At Blackpool Town Hall, Coroner Anne Hind said there was evidence the boy was bullied but she could not be sure he intended to take his own life.
The hearing heard how he had been picked on at school for two years.
The coroner's court was told police had taken 23 statements from pupils at Lytham St Annes High School after Paul's death.
Students gave examples of incidents on the school bus, where food had been pushed into his face, his shoes thrown out of the window and how he had been pushed off a seat.
'Tragic' case | |
Paul was found hanged by his Liverpool football scarf tied to a bunk bed, on a day before he was due to go back to school.
His mother, Carole Bullock, said her son would take different routes back from school to avoid school bullies, then arrive home in tears.
Tim Ashton, who represents Lytham on Lancashire County Council, said it was a "tragic" case.
He said the school had since "taken steps" to encourage pupils to report cases of bullying.
The school has set up an email address where victims of bullying can report their problems anonymously, he said. |
