CCTV images of a missing woman recorded on the night she disappeared have been discovered by detectives.

Tania Nicol, 19, disappeared after leaving her home in Ipswich, on 30 October, to work as a prostitute.

She is caught on the edge of an image at 2302 GMT that night heading towards the town centre along London Road near the Sainsbury garage.

Ipswich police are also searching for prostitute Gemma Adams, who went missing in the town on 15 November.

Twenty thousand photographs of the two women were handed out in the Suffolk town over the weekend.

Ms Nicol is described as having an olive spotty complexion. She is about 5ft 2in tall, with a slim build, shoulder-length light-brown hair and brown eyes.

She was last seen wearing a light-coloured top, blue cut-off jeans and pink high-heeled shoes.

Tania Nicol - missing since 30 October

Police said her family had helped them establish the CCTV image showed her the night she went missing.

Det Ch Insp John Quinton said: "Finding this image is important, as we now have a definite indication of where Tania was and when on the night she went missing.

"I hope that, by releasing this image, it might jog the memories of people who were in the area at the time and prompt them to come forward with any information they might have."

Police have acknowledged there are similarities between the disappearance of the two women, but are treating the two investigations as separate.
