Man held after woman's body found

A man has been arrested after a woman was found dead on the living room floor of her home in South Yorkshire.

Police said the 50-year-old woman, who has not been named, was found by a relative at her home in Day Street, Barnsley, on Saturday evening.

A post-mortem examination is expected to be held on Sunday.

A 47-year-old man has been arrested and will be questioned by detectives later. Police are treating the woman's death as suspicious.
