Version 0 of 1.

A police officer has been struck with a bottle during an incident in Dunmurry.

Police were responding to a dispute between residents in the Glenkeen area when they received a report of a woman with a medical condition.

They were then confronted by a crowd of people and a bottle was thrown, hitting one officer on the head. The officer did not need hospital treatment.

Another police officer used CS gas spray during the incident, which happened at about 0140 GMT on Saturday.

No arrests were reported.

A police spokeswoman said that "excess alcohol" seemed to have played a major part in the crowd's behaviour.

She appealed for anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them.
