The crew of a tug located the man at 0222 GMT. He was taken to hospital. He was found at 0222 GMT but pronounced dead on arrival at hospital. His next-of-kin are being traced.

The crew of the ferry then raised the alarm and rescue helicopter 169 from RAF Chivenor was scrambled as well as requests for help from Angle all-weather lifeboat and a police boat. "I would like to thank all units involved for their prompt action and the search effort that was brought into action so quickly." Dyfed Powys Police confirmed the man was dead on arrival at hospital.
HM Coroner for Pembrokeshire Michael Howells has been informed and inquiries are underway to establish and notify the dead man's next-of-kin.
Police say there do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death, but their inquiries are continuing.
