Toffee Deluxe evicted from Quality Street after customer complaints
Version 0 of 1. Quality Street has removed its Toffee Deluxe sweet after customers complained there were too many in a box. The Toffee Deluxe has been replaced by the new Honeycomb Crunch. It was one of three toffee sweets included in the selection box, along with the Toffee Finger and Toffee Penny. Many reacted angrily to the news:
Joanne Warner even started a petition calling for the return of the Toffee Deluxe. “We wanted to celebrate Quality Street’s 80th birthday by introducing the first new sweet for nearly a decade" a Nestle spokesperson said. "We did extensive research and found that the Honeycomb Crunch was the most popular option for a new sweet and that many people felt there were enough toffee based sweets in the collection so the Toffee Deluxe made way." However, the Toffee Deluxe sweet is not being withdrawn totally and can still be found in the Toffee and Fudge pack. “Toffee Deluxe fans can still find the sweet in our Quality Street Toffee & Fudge pack which contains the Toffee Deluxe alongside the Toffee Finger, Toffee Penny and Fudge. "Those who also want to try the Honeycomb Crunch can find both sweets in a limited edition tin exclusive to Tesco stores.” |
