She became "floppy, pale and unresponsive" and was taken to a medical centre by her mother, Shaffreen Khan, the court was told.
'Centre of world'
His barrister, Charles Chruszcz QC said Robertson accepted he had caused his daughter serious harm but never intended to.
He said he should not have been left in charge of her because of his "inability" to gauge her requirements "due to his intellect".
"This is not put forward as any form of excuse but merely as an explanation."
Ms Khan, 25, of Alan Moss Road, Loughborough, was cleared of causing her daughter's death last month.
A jury found her not guilty of causing or allowing Lila's death and cruelty to a child.
Birmingham Crown Court heard the baby was the "centre of her world at that time".
