http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-tees-36955958 Version 0 of 1. A dog believed to be one of the oldest in the country has died after being attacked by another terrier. Yorkshire Terrier Jack was killed in Hartlepool on Monday morning by a black Lakeland terrier. Jack, who was aged between 24 and 26, suffered a punctured lung and died on his way to a vet. Ray Bunn, who had owned Jack for 16 years, said he did not deserve to die in such a brutal way. He said: "This other dog came running up to Jack and just bit him and wouldn't let go, I was punching this other dog to get him off Jack. "It was horrible, Jack did not deserve to die like that, we are devastated. "He was a funny and intelligent dog." Cleveland Police are appealing for witnesses to the attack at 09:00 BST at the basin area of Hartlepool Marina. |
