A murder inquiry has been opened after a woman and a boy were found dead in a house in Fife. A murder inquiry has been launched after a brother and sister were found dead at a house in Fife.
Police said the bodies were found in Buckhaven, near Kirkcaldy, on Saturday night. Police named the victims as 25-year-old Michelle Thomson and her brother Ryan Thomson, aged 7.
A man in his 40s has been receiving treatment for injuries in Dunfermline's Queen Margaret Hospital. Both were found at the house of their father, Robert Thomson, in Buckhaven, near Kirkcaldy, on Saturday night.
The woman, who was in her 20s, and the boy have not been identified. No further information has been released by police. Mr Thomson, 49, is in hospital in Dunfermline. Police have set up an incident room and are carrying out door-to-door inquiries in the area.
Floral tributes have been left at the scene.
