A well-known County Down nightclub has been refused a renewal of its entertainment licence.

The Coach Inn in Banbridge has 21 days to appeal Banbridge District Council's decision to the County Court.

The council said it took the decision based on a PSNI objection to the application, and an assessment of the premises' history of compliance.

In a statement the council said it had also heard representations from the business.

When contacted by the BBC, management said they had no comment to make.
