The cyclist was turning left into Nicolson Street from West Richmond Street when he was struck by the vehicle.
He suffered serious injuries, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
A police spokesman appealed for witnesses.
He said: "An investigation is underway to establish the cause of the collision, and the driver is assisting with enquiries."
